Tips to Get Your Event Listed
Getting your event listed on entertainment websites is one of the best ways to promote your events online. Bullseyehub’s simple broadcast feature makes it simple to get events listed on multiple event websites, but there are some helpful hints we can offer to make sure your events are accepted and promoted by website editors.
Tips to Help Your Event Get Listed
1. Timing
Make sure that you get in touch with a website or magazine at least 3 weeks in advance. London based websites such as Time Out and Spoonfed are particularly strict about this and may not list your event at all if you do not give them enough advance notice.

2. Great Images
It’s really worth spending some time to select the right image to promote your event. Images are the lifeblood of most websites and a great image will really help your event stand out from the crowd. For more advice on event images, have a read of Bullseyehub’s guide of How To Choose The Right Image For Your Event. Please note that some event listing websites (Upcoming, Ents24) do not support events images but it’s essential for most other sites.
3. Correctly Formatted Titles
Interesting or unusual events will obviously make for more popular event listing but using the correct format for your information is also important in making sure your event is accepted by listing sites. We’ve noticed recently that events which contain the venue name in the title field are not accepted. There is usually no need to include the venue name, date or town where the event is taking place. For example;
Incorrect: ‘Chase and Status @ Koko in Camden’
Correct: ‘Chase and Status’
4. Relevance
Spend some time on the websites you want to post your events on. Have a look to check that your events fit in with the ethos or style of the websites on your broadcast list and consider tailoring your language or the images to what they like.
6. Premium Listings
Some listing sites such as Qype, Skiddle and the View Group sites (ViewLondon, View Oxford etc) encourage promoters and venues to pay an additional fee to give your events extra promotion on their websites.
